2HAND: co-ordination under a moving line
One hand moves the dot sideways, the other moves it up and down, and the channel
is narrower than your confidence. It is a co-ordination test with a stress test hidden in it.

Two controls, each responsible for one axis, and a track you have to stay inside. Contact with
the edge is registered, usually with a noise, and the noise is part of the test.
- Task
- Keep the dot inside the channel from end to end
- Controls
- One per axis — neither hand can do the job alone
- Scoring
- Time on track against time and contacts off it
- Hidden measure
- What happens to your next ten seconds after a mistake
Two things at once, neither of them optional
The difficulty is not manual dexterity. It is that the two hands have to co-operate continuously
on a single outcome, and your brain would much rather run them in turns. Watch a beginner and you
will see it: a horizontal correction, then a vertical one, then a horizontal one, producing a
staircase up a diagonal instead of a line.
