Reading your own scores

A practice score is only useful if you know what it is telling you. Most people read the headline number, which is the least informative part of it.

Three ideas do most of the work here: your score is a trade-off, it is relative, and one sitting is noise.

Speed and error are one number, not two

On every timed attention test, you are choosing a point on a curve. Push the pace and your error rate rises; protect accuracy and your coverage falls. There is no setting where both improve, which is why "work faster" is not advice.
